• Discovery Place rocks with ‘80s prom party

Tease your bangs and peg your pants for the Queen City's raddest blast-from-the-past party at Science on the Rocks: ‘80s Prom, happening Friday, Feb. 17 at Discovery Place Science.

Compete for Prom King and Queen, show off your best moonwalk in the dance contest, strike a pose in the photo booth with classic prom background and much more as you go back in time for an unforgettable adult-only night at the museum.

Plus, explore the culture, conquests and heritage of the world's greatest conqueror in the museum’s new limited-engagement exhibition, Genghis Khan.

Tickets cost $10 in advance or $12 at the door. You can see “Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Secret Ocean” in IMAX for just $5 more.

Science on the Rocks is open to adults age 21 or older. Photo ID is required for entry and will be checked at the door. Check-in will be at Tryon Street Admissions.

The event takes place from 5 – 9 p.m. Curio City Kitchen will be open, serving beer, wine and a special menu. Cash/credit bars will be located throughout Levels 1 and 2.
