The sun can shine all it wants: we're not getting out of this cold weather

If you ever wanted what life is like in Minneapolis, or Bismarck, North Dakota, just step outside! Arctic chill is holding steady after a record cold Wednesday morning at 18 degrees. The sunshine is trying its best to make it better in the afternoon. And we are seeing signs of improvement in that department.

But we're gearing up for another arctic blast! We have a shot of getting into the 50s Thursday but that iceberg weather plows in again and shoves us back down into the 40s. With another arctic high pressure center moving through the Carolinas over the next couple days, the mornings are destined to stay in the 20s into the weekend.

Keep your eyes on the records: the longest stretch of sub-freezing temperatures in November is 10, set back in 1950. So far, we've seen four days in this stretch - but many many more are on the way!
