Funk Fest brings Outkast, The Roots, LL Cool J & more

Outkast plays Funk Fest 2014
Coming to Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, September 12-13

Things will get funky this weekend at Metrolina Expo! Variety Entertainment, Inc. is bringing Funk Fest 2014 to Charlotte September 12-13.

The weekend’s line-up is stacked, and will arguably be the biggest Funk Fest to date with Outkast headlining.

Friday's show will feature Outkast, B.o.B., Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew, Fantasia and Morris Day and the Time.

Performing on Saturday will be LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip, Ice Cube, The Roots, Salt N Pepa, War and 112.

The 2014 Funk Fest music series marks the 20th anniversary of the festival which began as a small concert in an outdoor venue in Mobile, Alabama. Each year, Funk Fest attracts music enthusiasts from all 50 states to its specially-selected venues. The festival has played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Frankie Beverly and Maze, the Gap Band, New Edition, the Ohio Players, Cameo, Erykah Badu, Charlie Wilson and many others.

General admission tickets cost $65/single day or $100/two-day pass. Lawn chairs will be allowed, first-come, first-served seating, or standing room.

Preferred reserved tickets cost $100/single day or $155/two-day pass. Reserved seating is located directly behind the VIP area. Chairs will be provided, but no tables.

Various VIP packages are available.

The event will be held rain or shine.
